Acupuncture Fees and Opening Hours

Clear fees, evening appointments and a practical approach to healthcare

At Coburg Chinese Medicine, I believe healthcare should be reasonably priced and accessible to people with different work, study and family commitments.

I run a small, independent acupuncture and Chinese medicine clinic on Sydney Road in Coburg. Keeping the clinic small helps me manage operating costs and offer straightforward consultation fees.

I also recognise that attending healthcare appointments during ordinary working hours isn't always easy. For this reason, I offer evening appointments on several weekdays, giving people the opportunity to attend after work or study without necessarily having to take time off.

Below you'll find the clinic's opening hours, consultation fees, payment information and a few practical details about booking an appointment.

If you'd like to know more about my approach to keeping treatment reasonably priced, you can read my Affordable Acupuncture in Coburg page.

An initial acupuncture consultation allows time to discuss your health concerns, review relevant medical history, explain the proposed treatment and provide acupuncture where appropriate. The extended initial consultation allows additional time where a more detailed assessment or treatment may be required.

Ongoing appointments are for patients returning for further consultation and treatment.

I'll discuss any proposed follow-up appointments with you so you can make informed decisions about your healthcare.

Concession fees

I recognise that healthcare costs can be a concern, particularly for people on limited incomes. Concession discounts of $10 are available for eligible initial and return acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine consultations.

If you have a concession card or would like to discuss the cost of an appointment, you're welcome to contact the clinic before booking.

Private health insurance rebates

If your private health insurance includes acupuncture under its extras cover, you may be eligible to claim a rebate. The amount you receive depends on your health fund, your policy and your available benefits.

I provide a receipt which lists my provider numbers and can be used for the claims process with your insurer.

If you're unsure whether acupuncture is included in your cover, I recommend checking directly with your insurer before attending.

TAC and WorkCover appointments

Acupuncture may be funded through the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) or an appropriate WorkCover insurer where the relevant treatment has been approved.

TAC acupuncture fee update: From 1 November 2026, Coburg Chinese Medicine will provide eligible TAC-funded acupuncture consultations with no gap payment. Existing TAC billing arrangements remain in place for appointments before this date. WorkCover arrangements are unchanged.

Funding approval and claim arrangements should be confirmed before your appointment.

WorkCover arrangements may differ depending on the insurer and the treatment approval. I'll explain any applicable fees or out-of-pocket costs before proceeding.

If you're seeking acupuncture through TAC or WorkCover, please contact the clinic before your first appointment so we can discuss what information is required.

Making an appointment

You can book online through the clinic's appointment calendar or telephone the clinic if you're unsure which appointment type is appropriate.
