A quick introduction
Looking for an acupuncture clinic near you, or offering Chinese medicine in Melbourne's northern suburbs?
Coburg Chinese Medicine is an independently operated clinic established in 2012, located at 197 Sydney Road, Coburg. The clinic is conveniently situated for people travelling from neighbouring suburbs including Brunswick, Preston, Fawkner, Pascoe Vale, Coburg North and Pascoe Vale South.
I'm Michael Warren, a registered acupuncturist with over 15 years of clinical experience. My approach is straightforward: take the time to understand your concerns, explain your options and work with you on an approach appropriate to your circumstances.
How do I choose an acupuncturist near me?
When choosing an acupuncture clinic, it's worth checking that your practitioner is appropriately registered, that you understand the services available and that the clinic is somewhere you can conveniently attend.
I'm registered with the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia and offer individual consultations rather than predetermined treatment packages. You're welcome to ask questions about my approach, your options and what to expect before deciding whether to proceed.
What appointments can I book at Coburg Chinese Medicine?
You can book the following appointments online:
Acupuncture — initial and ongoing consultations.
Chinese Herbal Medicine — initial and ongoing herbal consultations.
Combined Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine — appointments allowing time to discuss both approaches.
Cupping — dedicated cupping appointments.
I also offer Dry Needling and Moxibustion, which can be discussed as part of your consultation where appropriate.
You can read more about each service using the links above, or go directly to the booking system to view appointment types and availability.
What health concerns can I discuss?
People contact the clinic with different health concerns, including pain and injury, headaches, digestive concerns and reproductive health.
I don't assume acupuncture is appropriate for every condition. We'll discuss your circumstances, any relevant medical investigations and the healthcare you're already receiving.
You can read more about my approach to pain management, neck and shoulder pain and migraine and headaches.
What happens at my first acupuncture appointment?
We'll begin by discussing your health concerns, medical history, relevant investigations and any other healthcare you're receiving.
I'll explain my assessment and any approaches I think may be appropriate. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions and decide whether you'd like to proceed.
It's helpful to bring any relevant medical reports and details of medications or supplements you're taking. Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing is also useful.
You don't need any particular beliefs about acupuncture or Chinese medicine to attend a consultation. You're welcome to ask questions about the evidence and the techniques I use.

Where is Coburg Chinese Medicine located?
The clinic is at 197 Sydney Road, Coburg VIC 3058, near Reynard Street.
We're on Sydney Road, which is served by the Route 19 tram, making the clinic accessible for people travelling along the Brunswick–Coburg corridor.
People also attend from Preston, Fawkner, Pascoe Vale, Coburg North, Thornbury, Reservoir, Glenroy and surrounding northern Melbourne suburbs.
One practical tip: if you're using a navigation app, check that you've entered Coburg rather than Brunswick. The two suburbs share Sydney Road, and it's worth making sure you're heading to the right address.
How much does acupuncture cost?
As a single-practitioner clinic, I aim to keep consultation fees accessible while allowing time for individual care.
You can check current prices and opening hours on my Fees & Opening Hours page.
