Chinese Medicine can help with preventing illness and maintaining your health
The daily grind of modern life, work and personal commitments can take its toll on our health, wearing down our physical, psychological and spiritual reserves until we eventually become susceptible to illness. Traditionally Chinese and East Asian medicine is used not only for the treatment of illness and disease but also for illness prevention and maintaining optimum health. Some of the main methods employed at Coburg Chinese Medicine include the use of acupuncture, moxa, cupping, dietary advice and herbs. If you feel like you are getting run down or feel as if you may need regular "tune ups". Chinese medicine is just the right approach for you!
What happens during the consultation?
As with any other initial consultation, a full health history will be taken and a number of traditional questions will be asked about your digestion, sleep, menstrual cycle (if relevant), energy levels, diet, areas of pain, etc, . The practitioner will then examine your pulse, look at your tongue and conduct the appropriate physical exams. From this information a traditional diagnosis will be made according to the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The practitioner will then discuss the treatment plan and their recommendations for diet and lifestyle. Usually some type of self treatment will also be suggested for home such as moxa, heat therapy or a special food recipe to help supercharge you between appointments.
How often will i need "a tune up"?
This can vary depending on what is going on for you. The practitioner will discuss with you a treatment plan and their proposed treatment strategy during the initial consultation. After addressing the main concern in a series of treatments, patients generally attend the clinic on either a fortnightly or monthly basis for regular "tune ups".
